The only and best way to go to dog shows!

Going to dog shows can be a lot of fun but going to dog shows and hotels are not as much fun. Getting to the hotel dragging all of your equipment in and then dragging it out the next morning, driving at times thirty minutes or more from the hotel to get to the show then dragging your stuff into the show can be a real workout and not fun. I did this a few times and said this is not for me! I told my husband that I wanted a 5th wheeler! HA! I wanted a 5th wheeler? I never pulled anything in my life!

Me being a determined person as myself I thought at first... wow if he gets me one how in the heck am I going to learn how to pull this thing? One day he comes home with a surprise for me and what is it? My 5th wheeler! Once I seen how big it was and the new truck he bought for me to pull it I said oh my god! I am not going to be able to pull that thing it is way to big!

Well we headed up to one of our local shows that was about two and a half hours away and he had a friend follow us. He got me set up at the show and told me now I got you up here... it is up to you to get yourself back and took off to head back home.... I said to him well I sure hope you have good insurance on it because it might not come back in one piece! :O)

Well the show ended... tornado warnings were every where, raining so hard you could not see five feet in front of you and here I had to get this thing back home. I could have killed my husband! I thought what kind of man would do this to a woman??? I got into the drivers seat, started the truck and headed out of the show. Talk about white knuckle syndrome! HA!

The skies were so dark, the rain was coming down so hard and here I am trying to get this big thing back home. I thought to myself... this has to be the worst thing I have ever did in my life, I am going to be road kill! What in the heck am I doing?

I finally made it home that day and boy was I proud of myself! I made it home all in one piece and so did the truck and 5th wheel and then I said to myself.. boy that was not as bad as I thought but I am not looking forward to going to the next shows! I must admit that my husband sure taught me a good thing when he left me at that show that day... he taught me that I could do anything without a man! HA! HA!

So after that weekend I went every where by myself! I have had people make comments when I show up at the shows with this rig such as I can not believe you pull that thing all by yourself, I think that is neat, she has driven it across the Blue Water Bridge all by herself and went through customs at the boarders, for a little thing she sure does a good job pulling it. I went all over Michigan, Indiana, Ohio and as far as Toronto in Canada.

The hardest part of it all and I must admit... I always need help getting the awning put up and taken down. And once and awhile I need help backing it up into tight places... but the men out at the shows have been very helpful and nice. The worst part of going to shows like this is when others have early ring times and you hear the dogs bark at four in the morning!
